Welcome to Renaissance Florence!

Join us in the period of 30 May - 1 June, 2023 and stand out with your scientific achievements. Take part as a SPEAKER (Oral/Poster/Virtual sessions), or lead a Workshop Session, or present your piece of art. Dare to touch the amazing synergy of Arts and Humanities! Present your high-quality work, collaborate with other researchers, listen to speeches from distinguished scientists and share experiences.

“Some of the big challenges that we face, both societal and scientific, are just not solvable by people sitting in their single-discipline silos – bringing those disciplines together in the long term is what provides the big, big breakthroughs…” says Kedar Pandya of the Engineering and Physical Research Council (EPSRC). This is the power of the interdisciplinary - more effectively 'joining up' the contributions of different disciplines.

Each article submission will be peer-review processed (double-blind), and if accepted, the topic will be included in the plenary programme and the full manuscript will be published in the Conference Proceedings (ISSN 2682-9940). The proceedings will be sent to the biggest international citation and indexing databases in the post-conference period for evaluation and indexation.

Workshop Sessions II - SOUNDMAPPING THE GENES, Fredrik Soegaard

WORKSHOP SESSIONS 2021

"SOUNDMAPPING THE GENES", Fredrik Soegaard

Day/Time: to be announced in addition

Duration: 45 min

SOUNDMAPPING THE GENES is an artistic project using real biological data in the creative and performing act. A complete genetic code is used in the music to control parameters such as: pitch, modulation speed and depth, delaytime, stereo pans, etc.

Therefore this project is very much in the spirit of this conference, as SOUNDMAPPING THE GENES is a real demonstration of how art meets science-litterally seen.

Fredrik Soegaard - Danish guitarist Fredrik Søegaard was born on 1951: improvisor, composer, teacher, working with improvisations in complex structures like Mandelbrot fractal algorithms or DNA coding sequences, his trademark is unquestionably the use of ground breaking scientific structures.

He has developed his sonic researches through his own groups, occasional collaborations with various musicians/ensembles of mixed genres.

From philosophy, history and archaeology to music,
art, architecture, literature and poetry,
the humanities are the sense of life -
they make us human.
