Dear Colleagues,

Let us invite you and your colleagues – scientists and researchers to become a vital part of this event. Welcome to Renaissance Florence, at hi-tech Centro Congressi Auditorium al Duomo - Firenze, in the period of 25-27 October, 2021. You could take part with article in Oral / Poster / Virtual sessions, or with interesting Workshop, as an artist and present your piece of art. Join and touch the amazing synergy of Arts and Humanities, present your high-quality work, collaborate with other researchers, listen speeches from distinguished scientists and share experience.

“Some of the big challenges that we face, both societal and scientific, are just not solvable by people sitting in their single-discipline silos – bringing those disciplines together in the long term is what provides the big, big breakthroughs…” says Kedar Pandya of the Engineering and Physical Research Council (EPSRC). This is the power of the interdisciplinary - more effectively 'joining up' the contributions of different disciplines.

All the articles submissions will be peer reviewed - type double blind, and if accepted, will receive DOI and will be published in hard-copy Conference Proceedings with ISSN 2682-9940. In the post conference period, the proceedings will be sent to the biggest international citation and indexing databases for evaluation.

Abstracting & Indexing

Abstracting & Indexing

SWS International Scientific Committee recognize the importance of enhancing visibility and scientific discoverability of all published articles in abstracting and citation (indexing) databases, well-known in the international scientific world. The Committee is doing their best to make our authors and their papers visible and accessible from almost everywhere on the web - because authors' impact is our highest priority!

There are many different databases, that provide citation metrics, based on the number of citations in the documents, however the most important for all the researchers are three major sources of bibliometric content - Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. But, of course, there are other important databases as ProQuest, EBSCO (Academic Search Complete), Crossref and RSCI (RINC), where you could find your citations and other details. More information regarding the way of measurements and impact factor calculation you could read here.

After every SWS Conference, we are working hard to prepare the Proceedings together with other related files (in need formats) for sending to the scientific databases. The entire process combines 2 main steps:

- To prepare all the Proceedings in the needed formats, incl. BibTex and XML formats, article’s metadata and PDF versions;

- To generate, register and activate DOI for each paper;

- To send the Conference proceedings and all required additional files for indexations.

The timeline - between 2 and 4 months after the events, depending of the number of the accepted papers. However, how quickly the Conference proceedings will be available in the scientific databases is up to every database. There are providers with 2 -3 months process, there are others with evaluation process between one and two years. Everything depends of the scientific database and the number of accepted after peer review process papers. Have in mind, we couldn’t speed the process of indexations.

MAIN ABSTRACTING AND INDEXING SCIENTIFIC DATABASES, THAT YOU MUST KNOW:

SCOPUS - ELSEVIER

SCOPUS & Engineering Village logoEi Compendex - ELSEVIER

Covering the world’s research literature, SCOPUS is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality Web sources with smart tools to track analyze and visualize research. Scopus was designed and developed with over 500 users and librarians internationally. Its unique database contains abstracts and references from over 15,000 peer-reviewed journals from 4,000 publishers worldwide, ensuring broad interdisciplinary coverage. In addition, Scopus not only offers users citation information about the articles covered, but also directly integrates Web and patent searches. Direct links to full-text articles, library resources and other applications like reference management software, make Scopus quicker, easier and more comprehensive to use than any other literature research tool.

On February 2020 we must send the title: SWS Conference on Arts and Humanities for evaluation in SCOPUS. The process timeline is around one year...

Web of Science - CLARIVATE ANALITYCS

Web of Science - CLARIVATE ANALITYCS logo

Multidisciplinary database for abstracts and citations, the oldest and the most frequently used, Web of Science (WoS) is a combination of six scientific databases. Here you could find an unrivalled breadth of world-class research literature linked to a rigorously selected core of journals and proceedings and citation connections.
The WoS database, where we send for evaluation and indexation the papers - Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) provides access to worldwide Conference Proceedings and their impact on global research, including cited reference searching to track the emerging ideas and the new research beyond what is covered in the scientific journals.

All SWS Social Sciences and Art Proceedings since 2014 are evaluated and indexed in the most important CPCI WoS database. Improvements are being made to reviewing the submitted for the event articles, due to these changes the last 3 years of the conference proceedings must be evaluated again. This is the main task of the SWS International Scientific Committee, which must be resolved in a short time.
